One of my favorite dishes is our Grilled Scallops over Fried Green Tomatoes topped with Pico de Gallo. To me, this dish epitomizes our cuisine. It incorporates the best local, seasonal ingredients and combines them in a way that is both innovative and traditional. It is a fusion of the best of both worlds. Jerry has worked at Sharpies since our earliest days. A Native of Carteret County and Graduate of the Carteret Community College Culinary School, Chef Frivance and his wife Rachel have three children and reside in Beaufort, NC.
Jerry worked side by side with Zac Durham for the last year and proved to be the natural choice above many applicants. "Chef Frivance understands the Sharpies concept and shares our vision for the future of Sharpies" states owner Joyce Gross, "We really work well together. Jerry is a great leader for our team, one every body respects and trust."

Chef Frivance brings a combined 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry with a six year emphasis in Fine Dining. In addition to his time at Sharpies, he has worked at Nikola's (previously of Morehead City), and Greens Supper Club in Greensboro, NC.

To assist Chef Frivance we also hired Chef de Cuisine, Bee Castle. Chef Castle manages our kitchen at lunch and assists Chef Frivance in the day to day operations of Sharpies.

Offering a casual yet creative atmosphere is what chef’s 505 strive to do. That goal has never been more important than it is today. For owners Kevin Brighton and Michael Santos, they are committed to providing customers with some of the best food in Greenville.

Kevin Brighton and Michael Santos are both ECU Graduates. Chef Michael Santos attend Burlington culinary academy. Michael studied overseas in Germany before attending ECU to get his degree in Hospitality and Management. Kevin Brighton attended ECU and worked at Chefs 505 under the previous owner Chef Scot McClelland. While attending school Mike Santos was the Executive Chef at Christine’s. Kevin & Mike started working together at Christine’s then decided that they wanted to venture out, take a risk and open a restaurant themselves. They took over ownership of Chefs 505 in May of 2002.

Since taking over ownership of the restaurant in 2002 Kevin and Mike have made a few changes to the restaurant. In 2004 Chefs 505 introduced the Lounge @ 505, this chic new addition added an extra 30 more bar seats and plush leather chairs and love seats for another 20 people. This venue offers live jazz on Wednesdays, live music on Thursdays and bands on Saturdays. The lounge is also available for private parties, pharmaceutical diners, luncheons and business meetings.
